Why is Google plus hated so much?

Personally, I think it's due to the way Google forced people to use it, by pairing up your YouTube account with a Google plus profile, in order to comment. This was a very unpopular tactic, hated by virtually every single YouTube user, I still to this day do understand how Google thought this would be popular amongst youtubers. It also made YouTube pages less unique, as before youtubers could make their own "banner" covering their whole page, whereas now, it's only a small canvas which you can upload an image to.

Furthermore, Google plus hasn't got anything that Facebook doesn't, giving Facebook users no reason to switch.

I remember when Google+ first came out, there are already other similar services. Perhaps people feel that having to use another service that offer no additional features is a hassle. Honestly, I tried to use it and realize there is no useful benefits other than it bundling many of the Google services, which is redundant in my opinion.

I can't say much about Google+ I don't know what it is really for, I noticed that my comments and whatever I did on YouTube went there, but I don't think it's that much of a big deal, since I'm not making use of it, even Google hangout doesn't seem like lots of people use it. Google is best for it's search engine, email services and YouTube account, just those major things and well I prefer using google to sign-up than other social media, because it's more lowkey. So basically G+ is a lowkey social network, that is just a background for google users, I mean I need G+ to sign-up at other sites with it.

Google+ was Google's attempt at breaking into the social media boom we've seen in recent years and to say it's not caught on would be an understatement.

While it does have a vast amount of members, mainly due to the fact that Google forced it on to its users, of all the profiles on there, there aren't that many that are actually active.

Yeah, I can also say that I don't really know what Google plus is used for, it doesn't really have a proper use does it? Like twitter is used by companies, and celebrities, Facebook by people to socialise with friends etc. Whereas Google plus doesn't show any unique characteristics.

Yeah, most profiles don't lost anything, and are "dead" in the sense that they aren't active at all. As I said before, the only reason why I got a Google plus account, was because YouTube forced me to when making my YouTube channel. Therefore I fall into the category of inactive Google plus users myself.

I too hate using Google plus profile, they themselves connect to Youtube account form Gmail. There features are worse comparing to Facebook pages and people usually not following pages.
Few days back they have totally changed the view of Google plus pages.

Google Plus got a very bad first impression and that first impression lasted. They were not forcing it like they used to but the damage had been done. I found Tumblr more annoying to use but Tumblr is able to have this organic gradual growth that is not forced. I really don't know if Google can make a damage control with this one.

Same with me, and I'd hazard a guess that most people on there are only members because Google effectively forces you to be.

Whenever a company, especially one the size of Google makes one of their sites compulsory to join, just so you can interact with another one of their sites, that to me says they know full well that site as failed.

Oh company's use it, the hangout feature I mentioned, they use it to host online events mostly. The company's I subscribed to when I first came across it, send me notifications of the events they are holding online and hangout, live video streaming and all that.

That's quite a good feature of it I guess, however many people still don't use Google plus properly, and aren't aware of all its features, which is a bit of a shame, despite Google forcing you to make an account. I think people should give it a chance, and be a bit nicer to it.

Google plus is very popular to Pirates of mobile game premium contents. For some unknown reason, Google plus allows the uploading of some pirated content when it comes to mobile games. I guess they finally find their niche.

I think you're confusing G+ with Google Drive, a lot of illegal stuff are being ghared through Google drive, G+ is just a profile kind of thing

I wouldn't be surprised if people use both Google+ and Google drive in tandem and upload to Google drive, then copy and share it to their Google+ account.

While any pirated material will 'be punishable, how likely is it that Google can check every account on a regular basis? A lot of people think it's a risk worth taking, personally I don't myself, but everyone thinks differently.

It is basically a Google + account that shares links for Google drive downloadables. So Yes Google Plus is now the biggest Pirate's paradise since Piratebay. I think Google is not trying to stop it because they were still profiting from those pirates in some ways. Also there is not much laws about Mobile game premium content piracy.
